I met several friends at the Breda Villa and the house was absolutely perfect. There were plenty of beds, rooms, and bathrooms to accommodate all of us. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped making cooking enjoyable. Furthermore, the surrounding area had excellent routes for running, walking, or biking. There was also a wonderful fresh fruit and vegetable market nearby and the town was a close moped ride away. The house offered easy access to a variety of fun activities such as climbing, boating, and shopping. Overall, we all had a wonderful time and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay. |

We also stayed at Breda Beach villa. We were three families on vacation together and had more than enough room to spread out. The bedrooms are huge, and beds seem to be everywhere. High ceilings and open spaces give it an airy, spacious feeling, so you are never on top of each other. The huge pool is visible from every room in the house, so it's easy to keep an eye on things.
The location is lovely, down a quiet country road that takes you away from the tourists to nestle down in Thailand; yet still close enough to hop on the long tail to do some rock climbing at Railay beach or hit a dive boat to K Phi Phi, or grab dinner at any number of European and Thai restaurants within a few minutes drive.
Having lived in Bangkok for 16 years, I thought I had seen all there is to see in Thailand, but fortunately there are still little treasures like Breda Beach tucked away to be discovered. |

My family stayed at the splendid Breda Beach Villa in August. The archetecture is authentically Thai in design and the villa is situated across from the Andamen Sea. The main house has two air conditioned enormous bedrooms all a serene shade of blue with balcoonies and 2 huge pristine bathrooms. The living room is luminous with its panels of glass which allows for sun to fill this magnificent room which has a cathedral ceiling . The kitchen is well appointed and it is easy and economical to hire local Thai chefs to prepare a special meal any night of the week. A seperate house has a magnificent bedroom and bath and balcony. Both structures face a stunning, gleaming pool. The villa is gated to keep the local village goats from wondering inside. Renting mopeds is an excellent idea. Aonang is a tourist flavored village just a 10 minute moped ride away from the villa where you will discover among the many shops both the ability to rent long tail boats to jaunt to nearby islands or to simply enjoy the lovely beaches of Aonang. Don't miss the Happy Beach Bar in Aonang situated right on the beach where the sight of the evening sunset is a phenomenal experience. |

My husband and I returned from our first trip to Thailand. We skipped the more famous, popular and crowded area of Phuket and headed to Krabi. The beaches were glorious, snorkeling, diving and climbing adventures abound, interesting cliffs and scenery, and a very interesting and unique mix of people. We stayed at a private home, called Breda Beach Villa (http://www.bredabeach.com) and it was fabulous! It had three large master bedrooms, a huge pool for swimming laps, and it was on a large compound away from all of the tourists. The house came with daily maid service, and we could have hired a cook, driver, etc. we much preferred this to staying at a resort, as we were surrounded by tourists all day. Although popular with repeat visitors and backpackers, this area of Thailand is much less crowded and touristy than Phuket. Met great people, enjoyed cheap, excellent food, and relaxed at our private getaway. Ao Nang is a large touristy area just 10k from the house. here are tons of shops and restaurants there. You can also a boat there to Rai Lay beach or to any of the islands off shore. It is easy to plan and there are many options. Taking these boats from town is much cheaper than booking through a hotel (I was told it was twice as much through a hotel). We plan to bring the kids back with us soon. |

As the gates opened into the Breda Beach Villa, our taxi driver sucked in his breath. "Suay!" he said admiringly. Beautiful. And it was.
Tucked away in an unassuming neighborhood along the shores of idyllic Laem Po--the heart of authentic Thai culture--the miniature estate is a refuge for those eager to experience Thailand as travelers rather than tourists. With a motorbike rented for pennies, the aquatic paradise of Krabi becomes an unparalleled backdrop for exploration, both inner and outer. We spent languorous days riding from island to island on the ubiquitous long-tailed boats; took a water taxi to the island of Railay for an afternoon of rock climbing with my 7-year-old daughter; booked passage on a power boat for a never-to-be-forgotten overnight camping trip in the Phi Phi islands.
But we had just as much fun by the oversized pool that is the property's inviting centerpiece. Within 15 minutes of our arrival, we discovered that the owner's creative sense of style had resulted in a jumping platform from the private and restorative master bedroom directly into the pool. When we'd fully explored that inspired design element, we cleaned up in the outdoor shower and gravitated to the deck for a dinner of delicious Thai dishes you'd never find at a resort, picked up from the nearby market.
Such were the tenor of our days at this contemporary and sensuous two-story property, characterized by its 30-feet-high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass doors open to the outdoors most of the time, stained concrete floors and opulent-feeling rooms painted in shades like robin's egg blue and filled with white linens.
Needless to say, we returned renewed. I don't know how we could recommend it any more highly. |
